Automation Engineer
Nela is a leading custom manufacturer of vision registration, inspection and product handling devices. We currently have an opening for an Automation Engineer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preliminary design concepts, assisting in cost estimates, and product development of custom conveying and product handling devices to meet customer requirements.
This position requires a degree in engineering (BSME/BSEE), 5 years experience in the design and development of automated equipment and processes. Strong mechanical aptitude. Knowledge in X, Y, Z motion control, pneumatic and electric actuators, grippers, and robotics. Experience with the design of pick and place devices and product separation /orientation devices, is greatly desired. Knowledge of conveyor, vision, and indexing device design is a must.
Desirable skills include proficiency in Pro/Engineer Wildfire, Pro/Intralink PDM software. Experience with 3-D CAD is required.
Approximately 10% travel is required.
